Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program. Each year during Red Ribbon Week, we encourage the student PTA members to help decorate the school grounds. Students participate in week-long activity. Stay tuned for this school year's Red Ribbon Week Activities.

How can you celebrate Red Ribbon Week?

  • Increase Your Knowledge: Learn more about the destructive effects of underage alcohol drinking and drug abuse.
  • Take A Stand: Wear a red ribbon to show your intolerance for drug abuse.
  • Spread the Word: Encourage everyone you know to adopt healthy, drug-free lifestyles.

Reflections
Reflections is a national PTA program that encourages millions of students to express themselves by giving positive recognition for their artistic efforts.  The Texas Reflections program has the most participation of any National PTA program with entries totaling over 75,000 across the state. Students may create and submit works of art in 6 categories:

Dance Choreography | Film Production | Literature | Musical Composition | Photography | Visual Arts

Reading Programs

Bluebonnet Reading Program encourages 3rd-5th graders to read books from different genres. Each year, the Texas Bluebonnet Selection committee chooses 20 books for the master list, and students vote for the winner in January. To be eligible to vote, students need to read at least 5 books.

2x2 Reading Program is a reading program for all K, 1st and 2nd grade students. The 2x2 reading list is chosen each year by the Texas Library Association Committee, and it consists of 20 recommended picture books for young readers. Students may participate in the program by reading the books and enjoy a treat.

Fifth Grade Graduation

The 5th grade graduation is a special day to celebrate our graduating 5th grade class. The fifth grade class ends their year with a PTA sponsored graduation ceremony. During the graduation ceremony the students receive diplomas to celebrate their accomplishment.

Class Parties
Winter Treat

Friendship Party

End-of-Year Party

Gulledge PTA sponsors 3 celebrations per school year. Parties typically include snacks, crafts, and/or activities. Parents are encouraged to volunteer & attend class parties to share these exciting and fun days with your child.

Field Trips
Gulledge PTA hopes to raise enough funds to send students on an  additional field trip!  Field trips are a fun and exciting way to enhance the education experience for our children. Field trip destinations are carefully selected by our amazing teachers to best supplement the grade level curriculum. Gulledge PTA pays for admission and busing for field trips.

KinderConnect: Popsicles on the Playground

PTA organizes a KinderConnect for the Kinder Gators and parents. This is a great way to get to know your child's friends and introduce a few new ones!

Often times the lines between fundraisers and programs are a little blurry, but it is thanks to our fundraising efforts that we have been able to provide all this programming to our Gulledge students.
