A Texas PTA Lifetime Membership is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual who shows continued dedication and involvement in the lives of children and youth in our schools and community.
Pamela Hopson-Horn, Texas PTA Life Membership Award
Pamela Hopson-Horn began teaching art at Gulledge Elementary in 2003 and was awarded Beginning Teacher of the Year at the conclusion of her first year. The Gulledge community adores her caring heart and cooperative spirit. She teaches all children with love and kindness, and she is dedicated to helping each student discover their creative potential. She inspires her students with her love of the arts and challenges them to be courageous as they showcase their talents in various ways. She uses art to engage children and to teach them how to observe and think critically. As an active member of the Gulledge PTA, Ms. Hopson-Horn is always willing to participate in PTA events and programs in order to demonstrate a strong parent-teacher partnership. She has dedicated her time and energy over the years to assist the PTA in fundraising through the Square 1 Art program and through assistance in creating art pieces for the school’s silent auction. She has worked tirelessly to help plan Fine Arts and is always willing to provide a helping hand with all that is involved in these events. Ms. Hopson-Horn and her husband, Steve, have two children who are away at college. In her spare time she enjoys painting, making jewelry, attending live concerts and theater, and spending time with her family and pets.
Nalini Joshi, Texas PTA Life Membership Award
Nalini has proven to be an invaluable member of the Gulledge community. She has served as a member of the Gulledge PTA for the past four years. She volunteers tirelessly and dedicates her time, energy, and ideas in an effort to better the school experience for every student. Nalini is passionate about her commitment to the Gulledge family and is an inspiration to all that work with her. Nalini is serving her second years as the Vice President of Ways and Means. Her previous roles have included After School Programs Chair and Color Run Coordinator. She has served as a member on the committees of School of Excellence, Board Nominations, Financial Reconciliation, Budget, Wish List, Gator Rock, Silent Auction, SAGE, Environmental, Hospitality, and Book Fair. She volunteers in the school library and Maker Space and is a room parent. Nalini is involved with the City of Plano’s Sustainability & Environmental Education Division as water ambassador, captain for creek cleanups and is also on the planning committee for Plano’s participation in the Great American Cleanup. She is actively involved in SPARK, a youth club at the Radha Krishna Temple. She is VP of Jasper Theater Booster Club, SBIC member and co-leader of Girl Scout Troop 6601. Nalini and her husband, Manish Srivastava, have two daughters. She enjoys reading, traveling, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
Erin Sears, Texas PTA Life Membership Award
Erin’s dedication to advocating for all children at Gulledge Elementary and beyond has made her an integral part of the Gulledge community. Her priority on education and desire to serve others shines through in all she does for our school. She has demonstrated integrity, honesty, loyalty and selflessness throughout her years at Gulledge. She has volunteered countless number of hours while finding balance in her family and work life. Erin is serving her second year as the President of Gulledge Elementary PTA and has been a vital member of the organization for the past seven years. Her previous roles have included Newsletter Chair, Grade-level Coordinator, Field Day Coordinator, Spirit Stick Coordinator, Reading Program Coordinator, and Treasurer. Erin and her husband, Kale, have three children. She is committed to giving back to the community in many areas of her life, as both she and her husband teach a lifegroup at Parkway Hills Baptist Church and are active volunteers with Cub Scout Pack 200 and Scout Troop 999. Erin works from home as a pharmacist with Anthem. She spends her free time running, traveling, playing Words with Friends and cheering for her Longhorns.
